Abstract:
The present application provides an information indication method and apparatus for solving the problem that a privatized physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) design by a manufacturer may be in conflict with wireless local area network (WLAN) standards. The method comprises the following steps: a first device generates and sends a PPDU, wherein a first field in a signaling field of the PPDU is a first value state for instructing the PPDU to carry manufacturer-customized information, and the first value state is indicated by one or more of the following states: a do-not-care-bit-value state, a bit non-default attestation state, a do-not-care state, and an attestation state. Since one or more of the do-not-care-bit-value state, the bit non-default attestation state, the do-not-care state and the attestation state are used as indicators of manufacturer-customized information, privatized manufacturer customization or subsequent standard improvement may not be in conflict with the information of the PPDU defined by original standards.
