Title:
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2016/002494
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present technique relates to an information processing apparatus and method whereby the decoding timings of encoded data, which have been obtained by hierarchically encoding images of multiple layers, can be controlled. The information processing apparatus of the present technique comprises: generating a file that stores, in mutually different tracks, still-image encoded data obtained by encoding still images and moving-image encoded data as encoded by use of prediction in which moving images refer to the still images; setting, to the track in which the moving-image encoded data of the file are stored, time information for designating decoding timings of frames; and setting, to the track in which the still-image encoded data of the file are stored, time information for designating decoding timings of the still images on the basis of a reference relation between the still images and the moving images for the prediction by use of the time information of the moving-image encoded data. The present technique can be applied to, for example, an information processing apparatus, an image processing apparatus, an image encoding apparatus, an image decoding apparatus or the like.
