Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible to achieve both an increase in the resolution of a real-space image used in, e.g., video see-through AR equipment and MR equipment, and a decrease in system load. An image acquisition unit acquires a first image which is obtained by capturing an image with a first angle of view, and a second image which is obtained by capturing an image with a second angle of view which is within the first angle of view and is narrower than the first angle of view. An image generation unit generates a display image by synthesizing an image of a high-resolution region based on the second image, and an image, based on the first image, of a peripheral region in a periphery of the high-resolution region. For example, movement of the capturing direction of a capturing unit for obtaining the second image is controlled, and movement of the position of the high-resolution region is controlled on the basis of user's line-of-sight information.
