Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to an information processing device and a method that enable the reduction of encoding efficiency to be suppressed. A first mode or a second mode is selected as coding mode for a base mesh that is to be intra-coded. In a case of the first mode being selected as the coding mode, the vertex information and connection information of the base mesh are converted to secondary information indicating the relationship between the mutually adjacent faces of the base mesh, and the secondary information is then coded. In a case of the second mode being selected as the coding mode, the vertex information and connection information are coded without the conversion thereof to the secondary information. The present disclosure can be applied, for example, to information processing devices, electronic equipment, information processing methods or programs.
