Abstract:
A configuration is achieved, when using recorded content on an information recording medium, with which it is possible to perform a process according to usage control information succeeding usage control information distributed by a broadcast station. Setting values for usage control information following a first standard such as CI+ (CI Plus) received from a broadcast station are converted, using a mapping process, to usage control information of a second standard, e.g., AACS rules, differing from the first standard, and the setting values are stored on the information recording medium. A device that replays or copies the recorded content performs content usage according to the usage control information of the AACS rules, succeeding the usage control information of the CI+ (CI Plus) rules recorded on the information recording medium.
