An information processing method for executing a prescribed process in association with a target displayed on a screen of an information processing device. Said method includes an acquisition step, a computation step, and a control step. In the acquisition step, position information indicating the detected positions of two or more parts of an indicating object is acquired. In the computation step, a control quantity is computed on the basis of the positions, indicated by the aforementioned position information, of the aforementioned two or more parts of the indicating object. In the control step, the information processing device is controlled so as to display, on the screen thereof, control display objects including the following: a first display object that represents the control quantity computed in the computation step; and a second display object that represents a threshold that serves as the criterion for determining whether or not the control quantity satisfies a prescribed condition. Also, in the control step, if it is determined that the control quantity does satisfy the prescribed condition, a prescribed process is executed.
