Provided is an information processing system provided with: a control device for transferring a control command in which data to be processed and the content of processing on the data to be processed are written; a processing device provided external to the control device, the processing device being such that, when a control command is transferred from the control device, the processing device executes a process that corresponds to the control command; and a planning device for determining a dividing size of the data to be processed in which the difference between a transfer time for which divided data are transferred from the control device to the processing device and a processing time for which the divided data are processed by the processing device falls within a predetermined range, the determination being carried out on the basis of the transfer time and the processing time. The information processing system transfers, to the processing device, divided data obtained by dividing the data to be processed in accordance with the dividing size determined by the planning device.
