Abstract:
A main computer (60) (information providing apparatus) comprises: an arrival determining unit (62) that determines, on the basis of information of current location of the electric vehicle (V), information of destination thereof and information of electric energy remaining amount thereof, whether the electric vehicle (V) can arrive at the destination from the current location in such a manner that satisfies a condition that a storage battery (10) of the electric vehicle (V) is not charged; a rental car information acquiring unit (63) that acquires information (rental car information) related to a rental car for which the electric vehicle (V) can be changed directly; and an information providing unit (68) that, when the arrival determining unit (62) determines that the electric vehicle (V) cannot arrive at the destination from the current location, provides, to the occupants of the electric vehicle (V), the rental car information acquired by the rental car information acquiring unit (63). It is, therefore, possible for the occupants of the electric vehicle (V) to go to the rental car shop to lent the rental car on the basis of the provided rental car information. It is further possible to arrive at the destination on the rental car without delay by changing the electric vehicle (V) for the rental car.
