This information provision system comprises: a subject detection means for detecting, on the basis of information acquired from an apparatus installed in a public area, a subject whose state of being at home is to be managed, among people passing by the public area; a movement direction identification means for identifying the movement direction of the subject; an at-home management means for updating information relating to the at-home state of the subject on the basis of the estimated direction of movement; and an output means for outputting information relating to the at-home state.
