Abstract:
An information reading device according to one aspect of the present disclosure comprises: a box body by which leakage of radio waves is suppressed; a housing part for housing a plurality of articles; at least one reading antenna for reading information from plate-like wireless tags respectively imparted to the plurality of articles; and a control unit that performs a reading process for reading information from the wireless tags in the housing part by using the at least one reading antenna. (a) The housing part houses the plurality of articles such that the plate surfaces of the wireless tags respectively imparted to the plurality of articles are orthogonal to an opposing direction of a pair of internal surfaces opposing each other among a plurality of internal surfaces of the housing part. (b) A first distance between one of the pair of internal surfaces and an internal surface of the box body opposing an external surface that is of the housing part and that corresponds to the one of the pair of internal surfaces, is longer than a second distance between another internal surface other than the pair of internal surfaces among the plurality of internal surfaces of the housing part and the internal surface of the box body opposing the external surface that is of the housing part and that corresponds to the other internal surface.
