Abstract:
In the vicinity of the nozzle opening of a nozzle plate, a discharge opening is secured on one end side of the opening in the direction in which a cleaning blade is moved relatively to a recording head, and a protective layer which controls the cleaning blade so as to bring the cleaning blade into contact with nozzle plate in the vicinity of the nozzle opening when the cleaning blade is press-contacted with the nozzle plate is formed.
