Abstract:
Provided are an ink set in which bleeding is suppressed and image cracking does not readily occur in an image, and an image recording method. Provided are: an ink set comprising an ink that contains water, a pigment, a pigment dispersing polymer A, and a water soluble polymer B, and a treatment solution that contains water and at least one selected from the group consisting of polyvalent metal salts, acidic compounds, and cationic polymers, wherein the dispersing polymer A contains a specific acid radical and an aromatic ring, the water soluble polymer B contains a specific acid radical and the structural unit represented by general formula (1), and the content concentration mass ratio of the water soluble polymer B to the pigment dispersing polymer A, among free polymers in the ink, is at least 1.6; and an image recording method. R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a monovalent substituent, Y1 represents a monovalent substituent, A1 represents -O-, and L1 represents a divalent linking group.
