Abstract:
An ink for use in a printing method in which a substrate comprising a resin is printed by applying an ink thereto is provided. The ink comprises water, an organic solvent, a colorant, and resin particles, the organic solvent comprising: a compound which has a boiling point of 170ºC or higher and in which the absolute value of the difference between the proportion Fh thereof represented by the following numerical equation 1 and the proportion Fh of the resin contained in the substrate, which is represented by the following numerical equation 1, is 5% or less; a C3-4 diol compound; and 2-ethylhexyl alcohol.
Fh (%) = [δH/(δD+δP+δH)]×100
In the numerical equation 1, δH indicates the hydrogen-bonding term of the Hansen solubility parameter, δD indicates the dispersion term of the Hansen solubility parameter, and δP indicates the polarity term of the Hansen solubility parameter.
