Abstract:
An ink for surgical markers which is safe for the body, is visible, and dries rapidly to give markings that do not blur and are prevented from fouling an area therearound or becoming unclear. The ink for surgical markers at least includes: a solvent obtained by mixing a highly volatile water-soluble organic solvent with water; one or more water-soluble dyes meeting the Japanese Standards of Quasi-drug Ingredients; and a surfactant. Particularly, the water-soluble dyes are Blue no. 1 (i.e., "Acid Blue 9") alone or a mixture of Blue no. 1 with Red no. 104 (i.e., Acid Red 92"), the weight percentage of the water-soluble dyes being 2-16 wt%, and the organic solvent is ethanol, the ratio of the weight percentage of the ethanol to that of the water being 0.2-1.5. This ink for surgical markers is safe for the body, gives markings having a clear tint to ensure visibility, and dries rapidly. The markings do not blur even when erroneously touched, and can be prevented from fouling an area therearound or becoming unclear.
