Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an inkjet recording device with which the occurrence of defects in recorded images, caused by an abnormal temperature distribution on the conveying surface resulting from the heat of the ink, can be minimized; as well as a method for controlling an inkjet recording device. Provided is an inkjet recording device equipped with: a conveying means for conveying a recording medium which is carried on a conveying surface; a recording means for ejecting ink onto recording media being conveyed by the conveying means, to record images thereon; a temperature measurement means for measuring the medium temperature at a plurality of locations of the recording medium on the conveying surface; an assessment means for assessing whether the medium temperatures at a plurality of locations measured by the temperature measurement means satisfy a predetermined first temperature condition; and a recording control means that, in the event of an assessment by the assessment means that the plurality of medium temperatures do not satisfy the first temperature condition, halts recording of images by the recording means.
