Abstract:
The present invention enables a user to intuitively understand the extent to which a finger should be brought near to a display with which hovering input is possible, in order for input to be made. In the present invention, an input device 200 is attached to a display with which hovering input is not possible. The input device 200 is provided with a light source 11 for radiating a laser, and a spread member 12 for expanding the laser radiated from the light source 11 in parallel to the screen of the display. The laser that has passed through the spread member 12 forms a planar light plane P. The input device 200 generates position information pertaining to a user's fingertip that has reached below the light plane P. The fingertip that has crossed the light plane P shines. Therefore, when the user moves the fingertip while confirming that the fingertip is shining, it is possible for the input device 200 to reliably generate position information pertaining to the fingertip.
