An insole which not only can be used for preventing shoes themselves from absorbing moisture or sweat and a foot from getting steamy and musty, but also is environmentally friendly and of low cost. Water-absorbing sheets (20) are cemented on both surfaces of a base sheet (10) made of paper. This water-absorbing sheet (20) is made from a long fiber non-woven fabric having good moisture permeability, good air permeability, good heat insulation and good resistance to water. The moisture, sweat and the like from a foot are gradually absorbed by the fiber part of the water-absorbing sheets (20) due to its capillary action, and gradually spread over a wide range of the water-absorbing sheet (20). The water-absorbing sheet (20) is gradually impregnated with sweat, moisture and the like, and concurrently, in parallel with impregnation, is gradually dried. Further, a base sheet (10) is also impregnated with the sweat and moisture from the water-absorbing sheet (20), and concurrently is gradually dried by evaporation through holes (11).
