A molded case circuit breaker of the disclosed technology is connected to a main circuit to allow current to flow through the circuit breaker. The molded case circuit breaker comprises a fixed contact, a movable contact, a switching device, a handle, a trip unit and an arc quenching unit. The trip unit includes a fixed magnet fixed at the main circuit and generates an electromagnetic force when an abnormal current flows through the main circuit; an armature, one end of which is spaced apart from the fixed magnet by a fixed spacing and the other end of which has a stepped tilt surface for enabling the other end to contact the fixed magnet during rotation; and an instant bar which contacts the stepped tilt surface of the armature and moves linearly in left and right directions to rotate the armature such that the spacing between the fixed magnet and the armature can be adjusted. The molded case circuit breaker of the present invention is configured such that the armature has the stepped tilt surface having a tilt angle and such that the instant bar rotates the armature through left and right linear motions, and thus can adjust the spacing between the fixed magnet and the armature and set the size of the abnormal current where a trip may occur.
