Abstract:
An instrument for percussion-rotary drilling comprises a rotatable casing (1) provided with a shank (2) intended for interaction with a percussion device (3). The butt-end surface (4) of the casing (1) facing the rock is provided with rock-crushing elements (5) grouped in concentrical rims. In each rim each rock-crushing element (5) is offset in relation to the first one, chosen as a reference point, by an angle defined by the relationship betai = (i-1/mk + P).mn.k1.k2.2b/rn, where i = 2, 3 ... mk - the number of each consecutive rock-crushing element in each rim; P - a random integer; 2b - the width of the crater resulting from a single penetration of the rock-crushing element into virgin rock; k1 - coefficient of mutual influence of neighbouring crushing craters; k1 = 1.0-3.0; k2 - coefficient of split saturation of the peripheral rim, k2 = 0.5-1.0; rn - radius of the mean circumference of the peripheral rim, m; mn - the number of the rock-crushing elements in the peripheral rim.
