Abstract:
This insulated electric wire production method comprises: the step of preparing a conductor having a linear shape, the conductor containing a first conductor flat region and a second conductor flat region which are linear regions in the outer peripheral shape of a cross section orthogonal to the length direction, and a first conductor corner region connecting the first conductor flat region to the second conductor flat region; the step of covering the outer peripheral side of the conductor with an insulating material, thereby forming over the conductor an insulation coat comprising the insulating material and having, in the outer peripheral shape of a cross section orthogonal to the direction along the length direction of the conductor, a first coating flat region, a second coating flat region, and a first coating corner region, respectively corresponding to the first conductor flat region, the second conductor flat region, and the first conductor corner region; and the step of inspecting the formed state of the insulation coat. In the step of inspecting the formed state of the insulation coat, a laser light is irradiated onto a first position in the first coating flat region, and a second position separated from the first position in a peripheral direction of the insulation coat, while a laser light is irradiated onto a third position in the second coating flat region, and from these lights, a coating surface reflection light, which is a reflected light from the surface of the insulation coat, and an interface reflection light, which is a reflected light from the interface between the insulation coat and the conductor, serve as the basis for inspecting the formed state of the insulation coat.
