Title:
INSULATING ECOLOGICAL SLIDING SCREEN
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/098721
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] From building windows, 48% of the thermal energy may be lost in the winter, and 71% in the summer from such windows. To reduce insulation loss using insulating means more effective than multi-layer glass in such building windows. [Solution] A house window fitted with a glass sash still loses thermal energy because one pane of glass has no insulating means. To improve the insulation of such a window, the insulating performance of the window must be increased to the same level as that of a wall. The heat conductivity of glass wool used in walls is 0.05, and the heat conductivity of air is 0.026. Therefore, an air layer with a thickness of 52 mm is required to ensure the same insulating performance as a glass wool wall with a thickness of 100 mm. If the limit of convection in the air layer is 12 mm, however, it is necessary to combine 4 or 5 layers. Providing such air layers in the window would solve the problem. As a solution, this insulating ecological sliding screen achieves the same insulating performance as a wall by overlapping a plurality of articles, each of which is made by assembling approximately 12-mm thick wooden frame members into a four-sided frame, and applying a fluorine resin film to both surfaces of the four-sided frame to retain therein an air layer. Attaching the insulating ecological sliding screen so as to cover the window in an overlapping manner can solve the problem by blocking the transfer of thermal energy.
