Abstract:
Provided are an interface device and an on-panel pad with which it is possible to improve the operability of virtual input devices. An interface device (24) is provided with: an on-panel pad (18) configured to cause a capacitive two-dimensional pattern (PT) to be formed between the on-panel pad (18) and a sensor electrode (26) when the on-panel pad (18) is disposed on a touch panel display (12); and a sensor controller (28) that generates or outputs data including operation information representing the operation status of the on-panel pad (18), in response to a change in the capacitance of one or more operation regions (92) that are defined to correspond to detection positions of the two-dimensional pattern (PT).
