Abstract:
In an internal combustion engine in which a computing process is performed by using a multi-core processor including a plurality of cores, a highly efficient allocation of cores that are used is implemented in accordance with the computing load of the internal combustion engine. An internal combustion engine control apparatus including a multi-core processor implementing a plurality of cores and performing various tasks related to the operation of an internal combustion engine is provided with: a computing means that performs computation by allocating the tasks to the plurality of cores; and a control means that decreases the number of cores used by the computing means in a period in which fuel cut is implemented compared with before the fuel cut is implemented. The computing means includes a selection means that selects at least one core that is used for a specific computation related to combustion in the internal combustion engine as a designated core. The control means stops the use of the designated core in the period in which fuel cut is implemented. The specific computation related to combustion includes, for example, a combustion prediction computation based on a cylinder model, a temperature prediction computation based on a catalyst temperature estimation model, and a fuel attachment amount prediction computation based on a fuel attachment model.
