Abstract:
Provided is a novel internal combustion engine control device with which the influence of a delay in airflow and the degree of change in a transient state can be reduced and switching between a homogeneous lean combustion mode and a stratified lean combustion mode can be carried out smoothly, and stable combustion can be obtained, in an internal combustion engine that carries out a homogeneous lean combustion mode and a stratified lean combustion mode. In the present invention, when switching between a stratified lean combustion mode wherein compression-stroke injection is performed by a direct-injection injector 7 and a homogeneous lean combustion mode wherein intake-stroke injection is performed by the direct-injection injector 7, an operation for switching between the compression-stroke injection and the intake-stroke injection is carried out with a prescribed delay time Δt from at least the switching of a tumble control valve 6, and the delay time Δt is set in accordance with the size of the degree of change ΔL in a transient state. Because the timing for switching between the compression-stroke injection and the intake-stroke injection is controlled in accordance with an airflow delay in an air control system such as the tumble control valve 6 and the degree of change ΔL in a transient state, combustion stability in the combustion chamber can be improved.
