Abstract:
An internal combustion engine (1) includes an in-cylinder injection fuel injection valve (GDI) (16) and a port injection fuel injection valve (MPI) (12). An engine controller (31) variably controls a GDI injection proportion and an MPI injection proportion. The in-cylinder injection fuel injection valve (16) is the default fuel injection valve. The MPI injection proportion is increased under conditions in which flash boiling occurs in the in-cylinder injection fuel injection valve (16).
