Abstract:
Disclosed is an internal combustion engine controller (1) which can simultaneously prevent the temperature of an engine control ECU (2) from rising to a high level and provide control to cut engine fuel. The controller (1), which controls the engine equipped with a plurality of cylinders each having an intake valve and an exhaust valve, includes intake valve solenoids (8-11) and exhaust valve solenoids (12-15) each for switching the operation status of the valve element of the intake valve or the exhaust valve between driven status and closed status. The controller (1) further includes the engine control ECU (2) for controlling the intake valve solenoids (8-11) and the exhaust valve solenoids (12-15), and an ECU temperature sensor (6) for detecting the temperature of the engine control ECU (2). The controller (1) also includes a switching count setting section (32) for setting a less number of the valve elements, the operation status of which is switched at a time by the intake valve solenoids (8-11) and the exhaust valve solenoids (12-15), when the ECU temperature sensor (6) has detected a higher temperature.
