Abstract:
Provided is an internal combustion engine ignition coil with which it is possible to align the position of a noise-prevention resistor appropriately and to maintain normal operation performance for a long time. The internal combustion engine ignition coil is provided with: a case 12 having an ignition coil body 11 embedded therein; a protector 13 which is joined to the case 12 and supplies an ignition plug with a high voltage generated by the ignition coil body 11; a noise-prevention resistor 14 which has electrodes on both longitudinal ends thereof and is electrically connected between the ignition coil body 11 and the ignition plug; a high-voltage terminal 16a joined to one electrode of the noise-prevention resistor 14; and a high-voltage terminal 16b joined to the other electrode of the noise-prevention resistor 14. The internal combustion engine ignition coil is characterized in that: the case 12 includes a joint portion 30 which protrudes from the portion accommodating the ignition coil body 11 and which has an opening portion; the high-voltage terminal 16a is fixed to the back side of the opening portion of the joint portion 30 so as to align the position of the noise-prevention resistor 14; and the joint portion 30 is formed with the high-voltage terminal 16b press-fitted into a distal end side of the opening portion so as to seal a casting insulating resin 18.
