Abstract:
An internal-combustion engine power supply device uses, as a power supply, an electric generator driven by an internal-combustion engine to supply electric power to a first load which requires to be constantly driven in order to operate the internal-combustion engine, and to a second load which is allowed not to be driven at the time the engine is started. A first power generation coil for driving the first load and a second power generation coil for driving the second load are provided in the power generator in a mutually magnetically closely coupled state. In a state in which energization of the load from the second power generation coil is inhibited, chopper control of an energizing current through the first power generation coil and chopper control of an energizing current through the second power generation coil are simultaneously performed, thereby boosting the voltage applied to the load during low speed rotation of the engine to a voltage value higher than in the prior art.
