Abstract:
An engine (1) is provided with: a main engine (10) which starts in response to an air pressure; an intake passageway (20) for guiding air to the main engine (10); an exhaust turbine supercharger (40) which supercharges the air flowing through the intake passageway (20); an air source (61) in which air for starting the main engine (10) is pressurized and filled; an air passageway (63) leading from the air source (61) to the main engine (10); and an assistance device (70) which assists the supercharging by the exhaust turbine supercharger (40). The assistance device (70) includes an assisting passageway (71) which branches away from a midway portion of the air passageway (63) and leads to the exhaust turbine supercharger (40).
