Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an internal combustion engine in which engine torque in both low-speed ranges and high-speed ranges can be improved through a comparatively simple and inexpensive configuration. An internal combustion engine (20) comprises a dividing wall (5B) that partitions at least part of an air intake passage (6) upstream of a throttle valve (7) into a first passage (51) and a second passage (52) which are parallel to each other, and an opening/closing valve (9) disposed inside the second passage (52). A flow channel length A1 of the first passage (51) is greater than a flow channel length B between a downstream end (8a) of the dividing wall (5B) of the air intake passage (6) and a valve shaft (71) of the throttle valve (7).
