Abstract:
This internal structure 1 for side sills is for a side sill 100 wherein an outer member 110 having a hat-shaped cross-section and an inner member 120 are joined to form a closed cross-sectional structure. The internal structure for side sills comprises: a coupling member 10 that couples flanges 115a and 125a on the upper side of an automotive body and flanges 115b and 125b on the lower side of the automotive body; and a collision energy absorbing member 20 that absorbs collision energy while transmitting a crashworthiness load input to the outer member 110, to the inner member 120 side. The collision energy absorbing member 20 has: a first collision energy absorbing member 21 that forms a linear load transmission path that is inclined towards a corner 127, or the vicinity of the corner 127, of the inner member 120; and a second collision energy absorbing member 23 disposed so as to join the inner member 120 and the coupling member 10.
