Abstract:
Provided is an ion exchange device in which the ion exchange capacity can be increased without the need to use an expensive ion exchanger, and the amount of a treating substance permeated into a raw water section can be reduced. An ion exchange device provided with a raw water vessel 1 in which a target solution comprising a liquid containing impurity ions is stored, a treatment vessel 2 in which a treating substance containing exchange ions comprising ions exchangeable for the impurity ions is stored, and an ion exchanger 3 which allows the permeation of the impurity ions from the raw water vessel 1 into the treatment vessel 2 and the permeation of the exchange ions from the treatment vessel 2 into the raw water vessel 1, in which a hydrophilic layer M having a water contact angle of 30° or less is formed on at least a treatment-vessel-2-side surface of the ion exchanger.
