Abstract:
A method for enhancing aesthetic appearance of a golf club head of a cavity iron and facilitating the maintenance of the appearance. These are achieved by hiding away and easily decorating a recess in the back side of the head, to which recess it is difficult to apply various kinds of treatment, processing, or decoration. A lid member is provided on a back side recess of a cavity iron head to hide the back side of a face and its vicinity that are contaminated by welding beads, leaked brazing metal, peening, or nitriding, and for easy embellishment of the back side, the lid member is embellished. The lid member is positioned not at a back side opening section but at a position in a cavity, near the face, so that damage or breakage of the lid member caused by being hit by another head or caused by other reasons is prevented.
