Abstract:
The present invention relates to the inhibition of ischemia-reperfusion injury by the use of glutathione persulfide as well as the use of the same in lung transplantation and pulmonary edema treatment. Specifically, the present invention relates to: an ischemia-reperfusion injury inhibitor containing the glutathione persulfide represented by formula (1) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof; and a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment or prevention of pulmonary edema. Formula (1): GS(S)nG (in the formula, G represents a portion of glutathione (GSH) other than the thiol group and n is an integer of 2 or more).
