Description:

PROJECTING JAMB MADE OF A SINGLE PIECE OR TELESCOPIC, PROVIDED WITH PURPOSELY DESIGNED GAP-CONCEALING MOULDING STRIPS, FITTED TO OR SET RESTING ON THE SIDE FOR OBTAINING OPENING OF THE LEAF OF THE DOOR UP TO 180°, AS WELL AS FOR APPLYING ITEMS OF EQUIPMENT OF VARIOUS TYPES BY MEANS OF A PURPOSELY DESIGNED

COUNTERFRAME

*****

The present invention basically relates to the private and public building sector, and to systems installed in buildings.

In the home and in working environments, the number and complexity of the systems installed are rapidly increasing. Frequently, it is difficult to find adequate points for installation and to arrange said points without jeopardizing or limiting possible arrangements of the furnishing. There is consequently felt the need of identifying areas or positions for locating old and new types of items of equipment, many of which are concentrated, for standard or innovative functions (domotics) , around doors and windows . Known from the patent application No. PCT/IT2007/000850, filed in the name of the present applicant, is an innovative counterframe for doors and/or windows, which can be applied in a known way to the internal or external walls and is designed to enable installation of pipes and/or sheaths for the systems between the masonry, the counterframe itself, and the frame of the door or window casing constrained thereto. Said counterframe can be fixed to the walls in

a position corresponding to the openings for doors and windows, comprising means for housing the pipes, ducts, and wireways of the systems for the items ' of equipment to be installed around said doors or windows. In normal doors, the gap-concealing moulding strip is pinned, glued on the frame or jamb of the door or window casing that is aligned with the masonry, or else inserted in purposely shaped profiles provided in the frame itself. The function of the above gap-concealing moulding strip is that of covering and closing the space that remains between the wall, the counterframe and the frame of the door or window casing.

This technique does not always enable opening of the leaf of the door or window casing up to 180° even if external anuba hinges or hinges of the book type are used.

In more sophisticated doors, the so-called "invisible" hinges are also used, with the disadvantage of reducing further opening of the leaf, which is limited by the projection of the gap-concealing moulding strip.

The main purpose of the invention is to provide an innovative jamb, which can have a fixed or telescopic width and which projects with respect to the thickness of the wall and is provided with lateral fixing means for insertion of a purposely designed moulding strip on the side of the jamb itself. Said jamb is designed to be installed on a purposely designed counterframe of a known type, provided in which is a seat for the passage of the systems and of the items of equipment.

A better understanding of the invention will be obtained from the ensuing detailed description with reference to the attached figures, which illustrate, purely by way of non-limiting example, some preferred embodiments and some variants thereof.

In the drawings:

Figures 1 and 2 are each a horizontal cross section of the upright of a jamb of fixed width according to the invention, in an area corresponding to the hinges of the door or window casing, respectively for two different embodiments for the gap-concealing moulding strip/

Figure 3, which is similar to the previous one, regards a moulding strip in which a seat is made for installation of apparatuses, switches, sockets and the like;

Figure 4, which is similar to Figure 1, shows a telescopic jamb with variable width according to the invention; Figure 5, which is similar to Figure 4, shows a telescopic jamb with variable width according to the invention;

Figure 6, which is similar to the previous one, shows the installation of small items of equipment in the gap-concealing moulding strip;

Figures 7 and 8, which are similar to the previous one, show the jamb mounted on a counterframe of a known type equipped for the passage of systems and pipes, installed in the moulding strip of which are items of equipment such as switches, sockets, etc.;

Figures 9 to 12 are axonometric views of a door

provided with jamb and gap-concealing moulding strip according to the invention, which show, in sequence, the assembly of the different parts and of the items of equipment ; Figures 13 to 16 are axonometric views of a door provided with jamb and gap-concealing moulding strip according to the invention, in which the jamb has oversized dimensions at the top and/or laterally to enable installation of items of equipment of particular encumbrance;

Figures 17 to 20 are views in horizontal cross section of the upright of a variant of the jamb of fixed width according to the invention, in an area corresponding to the hinges of the door or window casing, respectively for two different embodiments of the gap-concealing moulding strip installed on walls with and without coating tiles;

Figures 21 to 25, which are similar to Figure 8, show further embodiments and configurations of the present invention;

Figure 26 is a view in horizontal cross section of a second embodiment of the jamb and gap-concealing moulding strip according to the invention for a hideaway sliding door; and Figure 27, which is similar to Figure 8, shows a third embodiment of the jamb and gap-concealing moulding strip according to the invention, for a door with hinge of the "wind" opening type.

With reference to the aforesaid figures, the jamb according to the invention enables installation of items of equipment on the gap-concealing moulding

strips, appropriately sized and perforated, or else on the wall adjacent to the counterfrarαe by means of a boring that is made more or less orthogonal to the counterframe itself. Advantageously, in this way, it is possible to install items of equipment of any form and nature along the entire perimeter of the door or window frame, such as for example: current sockets, pushbuttons, switches, thermostats, emergency lights, sound-diffusion devices, lamps, buzzers, intercoms, videocameras, displays, alarms, antennas, junction boxes, control panels, manifolds, air-conditioning devices, suction devices, sensors of various types, and the like.

The invention substantially consists in a jamb for door and window casings that can be of fixed width 1

(Figures 1, 2 and 4) or telescopic 2 (Figures 3, 5-12) , said jamb being characterized in that it projects with respect to the wall 11 on which it is fixed, in such a way as to enable insertion of a purposely designed gap- concealing moulding strip 3 on the side of the jamb itself.

The gap-concealing moulding strip 3, aligned with the projecting fixed jamb 1 or telescopic jamb 2, guarantees, also using the known "invisible" internal hinges 12 (Figures 1, 3-8) or the external anuba hinge 12', rotation of the leaf through 180°.

According to a peculiar characteristic of the invention, the gap-concealing moulding strip 3 can envisage at least one purposely designed recess or seat, which, co-operating with the projecting fixed jamb 1 or telescopic jamb 2, enables a gap 4 (Figures

4-8) to be obtained, which is functional both for fixing and for insertion, in the lowered pre-perforable part 5 (Figures 4-12), of small items of equipment 8

(Figure 6) or else of items of equipment of a more standard type 9, such as for example: switches, sockets, sensors, etc. (Figures 7-8, 11-12) .

Moreover provided is a second moulding strip 6 (Figures 4-8 and 12), interrupted where it is necessary to leave in view the items of equipment 8 and 9 (Figures 1, 7-8, 11-12), which is designed to be inserted in the moulding strip 3 for closing the recess and for completing and finishing the shape of the moulding strip itself.

As has already been mentioned, in order to optimize insertion of items of equipment 9 (switches, sockets, sensors, etc.), it is necessary to install beforehand a purposely designed "counterframe" 10 of a known type (Figures 7-8), described in the patent application No. PCT/IT2007/000850, which enables the passage of electric ducts, pipes for plumbing, etc. and leaves space for the introduction of items of equipment 9.

Advantageously, according to the present invention it is also possible to insert, in the top part of the door, also internal units for air conditioning, the so- called λλ split air conditioners", by simply providing for said jamb 1 or 2 to have an oversized width for adapting it to the depth of the machine. Likewise, on the sides of the jamb, it is possible to envisage housing of intercoms, video-intercoms, etc. (Figures 13-16) .

A variant of the jamb of fixed width 1

(illustrated in Figures 17 to 20) regards a jamb 1' projecting with respect to the wall on which it is installed, which is designed to co-operate with lateral moulding strips 3', which are fixed thereto with inclined screws instead of by means of the purposely designed grooves that have already been described.

Advantageously, this variant enables adaptation of the position of the moulding strip on the side without hinges (at the top in the figures) , to the thickness of the wall, without modifying either the jamb 1' or the moulding strip 3' .

Figures 21 to 25 show further examples of embodiment substantially similar to that of Figure 8. A second embodiment of the invention, shown in Figure 26, regards a jamb for hide-away sliding doors 13a/ in this case, one of the two vertical sides of the jamb is without the central area to enable passage of the sliding door 13a, and the opposite vertical side is provided with a central seat 14 for the rabbet of the door itself.

Finally, Figure 27 shows a third embodiment of the jamb, particularly suitable for doors with two-leaf opening of the x 'wind"-hinge type 13b. In this case, evidently, the hinges of the door or window casing are set centrally with respect to the jamb itself.

According to the invention, said jamb 1, 1' , 2 and said gap-concealing moulding strip 3, 3' can be made of wood or metal or plastic. In the figures, the reference number 15 designates the dust-proof elastic gasket, and reference number 16

designates the bracket for attachment of the jamb to the counterframe.
