Abstract:
In this joining method for members, a steel part (1) and an aluminum part (10) wherein a through hole (11) is provided are prepared. First, using a first die set (20), a protrusion (2) having a first diameter (Ds) larger than a second diameter (De) in a final shape that can pass through the through hole (11) is formed in the steel part (1) by partially expanding the steel part (1) while elastically pressing the same. Next, using a second die set (30), the protrusion (2) is formed such that the first diameter (Ds) is reduced to the second diameter (De). Furthermore, using a third die set (40), the protrusion (2) is crushed in a state in which the steel part (1) and the aluminum part (10) are stacked such that the protrusion (2) passes through the through hole (11), thereby crimping the steel part (1) and the aluminum part (10). This joining method for members can improve joining strength, and can be used on high-strength members which are difficult to work.
