Abstract:
Irregular components are extracted for each of characterizing quantities of sheets, notes, etc., on the basis of the characterizing quantities of the sheets, notes, etc., read from a plurality of positions of them as an inspection object and reference data obtained in advance for these positions. Contamination components of a plurality of positions of the sheets, notes, etc., as the inspection object, are estimated on the basis of the irregular components of each characterizing quantity so extracted and a prediction model of contamination components that are determined in advance. The sheets, notes, etc., as the inspection object is judged for forgery on the basis of the contamination components so estimated and the irregular components so extracted.
