Abstract:
Current meter which comprises a vortex-generating pole arranged nearly perpendicular to the direction in which a fluid flows inside a duct, an ultrasonic wave transmitter so mounted as to propagate ultrasonic waves across a stream of Karman vortex-street which is generated downstream of the vortex-street generating pole, and an ultrasonic wave receiver for receiving ultrasonic waves modulated by the Karman vortexes, the ultrasonic wave transmitter being oppositely mounted on the upper side of the ultrasonic wave receiver. Since there is an improvement in the detecting ability in the generation frequency of Karman vortexes at a lower fluid stream velocity, the meter is suitable for measuring the intake air volume in an automobile.
