Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a silica-containing resin varnish obtained by adding a ketone organic solvent dispersion silica sol having high dispersibility to a polymer containing a nitrogen atom. [Solution] This sol (silica sol) is obtained by dispersing, in a ketone solvent, silica particles having a surface to which an carbon atom-carbon atom unsaturated bond-containing organic group and an alkoxy group are bonded and having an average particle size of 5-100 nm, wherein the carbon atom-carbon atom unsaturated bond-containing organic group is bonded to the surfaces of the silica particles at a rate of 0.5-2.0 per unit area (/nm2), the alkoxy group is bonded to the surfaces of the silica particles at a rate of 0.1-2.0 per unit area (/nm2), and the molar ratio {(carbon atom-carbon atom unsaturated bond-containing organic group)/(alkoxy group)} is 0.5-5.0. The carbon atom-carbon atom unsaturated bond-containing organic group is an organic group including a phenyl group, or an organic group including a (meth)acryloyl group. The silica sol which contains a nitrogen-containing polymer forms an insulating resin composition. The nitrogen-containing polymer is any of a polyimide, a polyamide, a polyamic acid, a polyamide imide, a polyether imide, or a polyester imide.
