Abstract:
Disclosed is a lactic acid bacterium that is suitable for foods, beverages, and medicines, induces thioredoxin, and is capable of preventing/and or ameliorating a variety of biological damage resulting from oxidative stress. Also disclosed are foods, beverages, and medicines using said lactic acid bacterium that prevent and/or ameliorate biological damage. The lactic acid bacterium with thioredoxin-inducing activity belongs to the genus Lactobacillus, particularly to the Lactobacillus delbrueckii subspecies bulgaricus OLL1224 strain.
