Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a polymer with which it is possible to produce an optical film that has an excellent sheet shape and does not suffer from cissing or alignment defects; a composition; an optical film; and a liquid crystal display device. [Solution] A laminate (10) according to the present invention is a laminate that enables, through the use of the alignment regulating force of a surface (10s) thereof, the formation on the surface (10s) of an alignment layer (11) which is obtained by aligning a rod-shaped liquid crystal compound or a discotic liquid crystal compound and which has horizontal alignability or vertical alignability relative to the surface (10s), wherein a support (100) has provided thereupon a liquid crystal layer (110) which is obtained by aligning a rod-shaped liquid crystal compound or a discotic liquid crystal compound and which has horizontal alignability or vertical alignability relative to the support surface (100s). A surfactant comprising a fluorine-containing compound or a compound having a polysiloxane structure is included in the liquid crystal layer (110), and the surfactant has a molecular mass of 15,000 or less.
