Abstract:
The invention relates to a large-calibre firearm comprising a breech assembly (4) comprising a breech block (5) rigidly connected to a firearm barrel (3), a breech support (6) movable in axial translation relative to the breech block (5) and coupled to a breech head (7), characterised in that the breech assembly (4) further comprises a plurality of loading chambers (8) intended to receive ammunition, a mechanism (9) for moving the chambers (8), configured to support the chambers (8) and successively place one of the chambers (8) in a firing position, that is to say between the breech block (5) and the breech head (7) and in alignment with the longitudinal axis of the firearm barrel (3), and at least one other chamber (8) in a supply position, in which the at least one chamber (8) is able to receive ammunition via its rear end (8b), and a locking mechanism (10) configured to move the breech head (7) and the chamber (8) placed in the firing position between an unlocked position and a locked position, in which the chamber (8) is closed off at its rear end (8b) by the breech head (7) and opens out at its front end (8a) into the firearm barrel (3).
