A large sunshade capable of being opened or closed quickly comprises a pole (A), an upper disc (3), a lower disc (4), ribs (5), and stretchers (6). The ribs (5) are rotatably hinged to the upper disc (3). The respective ends of the stretchers (6) are hinged to the lower disc (4). The respective other ends of the stretchers (6) are hinged with upper portions of the ribs (5) to form a frame. The pole (A) comprises an outer tube (2) and an inner tube (1). The upper disc (3) is fixed to the top of the inner tube (1). The lower disc (4) is detachably disposed at the outer tube (2). The upper disc (3) and the lower disc (4) are connected by means of the inner tube (1) and the outer tube (2). A crank housing (7) and a transmission mechanism engaged therewith are provided inside the outer tube (2). A timing belt (17) is provided inside the inner tube (1). When a crank (72) is rotated, the inner tube (1) can slide vertically relative to the outer tube (2) and be positioned by means of cooperation of the timing belt (17) and the transmission mechanism. The sunshade has a simple and compact structure, can be opened or closed quickly and conveniently, provides a large shaded area, and ensures fixed and stable positioning.
