Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing a weld seam with a single laser pulse, according to which the laser beam and the work piece are displaced at a high speed relative to each other. The length of the weld seam thereby produced is mainly conditional on the product from the pulse duration of the laser pulse and the relative speed of the work piece and the laser pulse. The invention also relates to a method whereby the work piece is repeatedly impinged upon by a single laser pulse along the weld seam to be produced. In this case, the length of the weld seam is mainly conditional on the product from the pulse duration of the laser pulse and the relative speed of the work piece and the laser pulse divided by the number of impingements.
