Abstract:
Provided is a laser device that makes it possible to detect return light propagating through a plurality of optical waveguides within an output optical fiber by means of a simple and inexpensive structure. This laser device 1 comprises: an output optical fiber 40 which includes a center core 41 and a ring core 43; a plurality of laser light sources 11, 12 which generate laser beams; input optical fibers 20, 30 through which laser beams propagate; an optical combiner 50 which is configured so as to optically connect the input optical fibers 20, 30 with the center core 41 and ring core 43 of the output optical fiber 40; a laser emission unit 60 which emits the laser beams that have been introduced into the center core 41 and ring core 43 of the output optical fiber 40; and a return light detection unit 7 which is capable of detecting both first return light returning toward the optical combiner 50 from the laser emission unit 60 via the center core 41 of the output optical fiber 40 and second return light returning toward the optical combiner 50 from the laser emission unit 60 via the ring core 43 of the output optical fiber 40.
