Abstract:
Provided are a laser light emitting device capable of emitting a high-luminance light
of preferable monochromaticity and an image display device using the same. The
laser light emitting device includes: a plurality of laser elements (21); a plurality
of laser drive power sources (22) for supplying current to the laser elements
(21); an optical element (35) for uniformizing the laser light quantity distribution
emitted from the laser element (21); a plurality of light reception elements
(26) which receives a part (25) of the laser light (23) of the laser elements (21);
a measurement unit (27) which measures at least the relationship between the
operation current value of the laser element (21) and the output value of the laser
light for the operation current value; and a control unit (28) for controlling the
entire device according to the measured value obtained by the measurement unit
(27). The control unit (28) is configured to operate by the laser drive power source
(22) so as to make the light outputs of the laser elements (21) different according
to the operation current value and the output value.
