Abstract:
A laser oscillator (40) is provided with: a voltage measuring unit (45) that measures a measurement voltage according to the voltage between first and second nodes (N1), (N2); an inter-node voltage limiting circuit (60) that implements a voltage step-down operation to reduce the voltage between the first and second nodes (N1), (N2); and a control unit (46) that causes the inter-node voltage limiting circuit (60) to execute the voltage step-down operation if the measurement voltage measured by the voltage measuring unit (45) is equal to or greater than a predetermined threshold, whereas, if the measurement voltage measured by the voltage measuring unit (45) is less than the predetermined threshold, the control unit (46) executes surge voltage control when a bypass switch (43) is switched from ON to OFF, the surge voltage control being such that the voltage step-down operation is not executed by the inter-node voltage limiting circuit.
