Abstract:
A laser radar (1) is provided with: a projection unit for projecting, in a direction acute to an axis of rotation (R10), laser light that has been emitted from a light source; a light-receiving unit for condensing reflected light of the laser light from an object onto an optical detector; a rotating unit for causing the projection unit and the light-receiving unit to rotate about the axis of rotation (R10) and forming object-sensing surfaces (S1-S6) of a conical surface shape; and a controller for sensing entry of an object into a three-dimensional monitoring region (RM). The object-sensing surfaces (S1-S6) are set so as to spread out toward the monitoring region (RM). The controller sets sensing ranges (RD1-RD6) corresponding to the monitoring region (RM) to the object-sensing surfaces (S1-S6). If the location of the object on the object-sensing surfaces (S1-S6) detected on the basis of the emission of the laser light and the receipt of the reflected light is included in the sensing ranges (RD1-RD6), entry of the object into the monitoring region (RM) is sensed.
