Abstract:
This laser welding monitoring apparatus comprises: an acquisition interface that acquires a signal corresponding to a measurement beam obtained when a workpiece is measured by being irradiated with a laser beam; an arithmetic circuit that determines a processing condition on the basis of the acquired signal; and a storage device that preliminarily stores therein variation-trend information representing the trend in which the intensity of the measuring beam varies according to positions of processing points within a region where the laser beam can be scanned by an optical system that includes a galvano mirror and a scan lens. When intensity signals indicative of intensities of the measuring beam are received upon scanning by the optical system using a laser beam in a prescribed welding pattern, the arithmetic circuit makes a correction to each of the acquired intensity signals so that the variation in intensity according to the positions of processing points is suppressed on the basis of the variation trend information, and then makes an assessment on the processing condition on the basis of the corrected intensity signals.
