Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a latch mechanism that can reliably lock a latch. Also, to provide an electrical-component socket using said latch mechanism. [Solution] A cover member comprises the following: a main cover body that covers a top open face of a main container body; a vertically-moving part that is supported on the main cover body so as to be able to move vertically; and a pressure-applying part that is supported on the main cover body and makes the vertically-moving part move downwards. The top ends of a pair of latch parts are rotatably supported on outside side surfaces of the main cover body. The bottom ends of said latch parts engage with the abovementioned main container body so as to affix the main cover body to the main container body. The vertically-moving part is provided with latch-catching parts that, when the vertically-moving part moves downwards, engage with the latch parts so as to prevent said latch parts from rotating in the direction that would result in said latch parts disengaging from the main container body.
